As a starting note to the users of this website, this website is not a full and comprehensive every little step type of website on how to build an electric guitar. You should rather think of it as a basis of foundation knowledge and a source of finding good wood deals (I will try to keep the wood section up to date and add any newer/better places as often as time allows me). This instructional portion is more of an overview so that you can know what you are getting yourself into and make an informed decision before going all out and spending a lot of money.

The instructions here are broken into four basic sections that will give a brief over view of the basic steps. This way, it is a

good place to see a quick look at what this is all about or just get a review if you have done this before. However I strongly suggest everyone who decides to do this, both old and new purchase the book discussed below.

For more in-depth instructions I suggest everyone (especially if this is your first time) go to Amazon and get Roger H. Siminoff’s book Construction a Solid-Body Guitar. It is the best book I have found on the subject and gives you everything you need to know for this project and much more. And what is more it is cheap at only 13.57 it might not be the prettiest book ever made but it rocks my socks at what it is for.
