Sharapova should be avoided in the future's market.
Maria Sharapova is a fan favorite and that seems to be earning her a few bets in the future's market. However, she hasn't really done anything at the Grand Slam level in 2 years now (she won the 2008 Australian) that would make her appear worthy of anything more than a cautious sprinkle. No doubt a great part of her struggling is due to her injury and her comeback from that injury, but injured or healthy players are what they are and Sharapova is a little overrated at this point in her career.
Here are her prices to win the Grand Slams in the 2010 future's market:
Australian Open, +1000 (10/1), Paddy Power
French Open, +1400 (14/1), Stan James
Wimbledon, +1000 (10/1), Blue Square
US Open, +800 (8/1), L

Open should be avoided like the plague. Sharapova never won the French even when she was playing her best so you have to think that her post-injury odds of +1400 are still too short to pick.
If any price is worthy then it is probably the Australian Open at +1000. She won in 2008 as mentioned and she was also the runnerup in 2007. The smartest thing you can do with Sharapova is sprinkle her for the Aussie with Paddy Power and then watch her carefully. If she experiences success (makes the semis, finals, or wins) then you could reconsider her for Wimbledon or the US Open but right now she doesn't look great in the future's market at all.
The early round exits at Wimbledon this year and at the US Open make her way too risky, let alone all of the double faults she's tossed on key points.
